Struggling to Control Emotions
My Past is to Blame

by John
(UK)

Hi

I am working as a trader in the financial markets and I have been having a lot of problems controlling emotions such as excitement fear and panic. Every time my mind gets hijacked and i make an impulsive decision. Having learnt about the role of the amygdala in creating emotional reactions I have come to the conclusion that my traumatic childhood may be to blame. This was a time when I was often fearful and panicky. I have begun some meditation recently to help me control my thoughts and hence my emotions. Is there anything else I can do? Thank you very much for reading!

The Mind Control Tips page suggests a list of activities, which can help to still emotional turmoil. You have started off on that path. Wish you all success!

thought and the steps are actually actionable as compared to many other self help sites out there.
